Vision Statement
Educating children with skills to shine.
Mission Statement
Fine for School is a back to basics school readiness program created to teach children and parents the skills required to read, write, speak and listen at school. Parents will feel empowered by participating and learning the best ways to help their children get ready for school and get a head-start in their educational journey.
FINE for School focuses on the integration of three fundamental skills for learning:
Fine motor skills
Integrated with
Nurturing language development &
Early literacy and numeracy knowledge
These early reading and writing skills are necessary to best support your child starting school next year.
Philosophy
My classes are fun, hands on, multi-sensory and interactive. I use auditory, visual and kinaesthetic activities to cater for different learning styles. Children reach their full potential when they are learning in their "zone of proximal development" (Vygotsky, 1978). This means children require scaffolding to learn new things within their limits.
My aim is to help children gain skills in a structured, positive learning environment so they have confidence to reach for the stars and shine!
My Logo
An essential aspect at FINE for School is parental education and involvement. This is represented in my chosen logo for FINE for School. 3 hands - child, parent, educator, working together towards the same outcome - to maximise the learning potential of children, to assist with a smoother transition to primary school. The three hands also represent my 3 focus areas: fine motor, oral language and early literacy/numeracy.
