Fine Motor
- Strengthen their hands, fingers and wrists to assist with correct pencil grip
- Develop hand / eye coordination
- Improve pincher grip technique
- More independence with other important skills e.g. packing/unpacking school bag, opening containers, pulling lids off glue sticks, doing up buttons, opening packets of food.
Oral Language
- Develop effective listening skills to follow directions (receptive language)
- Increased confidence speaking in front of a group (expressive language)
- More participation in class, e.g. asking and answering questions
- Compose interesting sentences to share during news or responses to questions
Early Literacy
- Identify letters and make links with initial sounds in words
- Understanding the direction of letters when handwriting

- Articulate sounds in words, which assists with writing
